Acceptance

Everyone has doubts and fears
We seek acceptance from our family and peers
The pain that builds inside

The image you see of me
The person you wish I could be
Acceptance for who I am,
rather than what I could be
Who I am inside I wish you could see
I know I disappoint you
The tears I cried if only you knew
