In a perfect
world we wouldn't be judged
by the color of our skin
It shouldn't matter if we are short, tall, fat or thin
Don't we all laugh and cry?
We all feel happiness and sorrow inside
Though we may be different in color
and the appearance of our face
Remember, we are all part of the human race
Many times we are judged like the cover of a book
Who we are inside, people often don't take the time to even look
Just because we are different on the outside
People think we can't possibly be the same on the inside
That is because we are filled with hatred and prejudice in our minds
We can't see what God sees, for we are truly blind
Society deems it best to keep a silence
Though on the news each day prejudice spawns hatred and violence
How I wish everyone could see that we are all the same inside
Maybe we could see...if we truly opened up our eyes.
