Promise You Couldn't Keep

You said our love would be forever
You said we would always be together
That was a promise you couldn't keep
How I remember all the joy and happiness we had
When it all ended it made me ever so sad
How my world turned so icy cold
For my heart you still do hold
I gave you all the love in my heart
Yet you decided to tear my heart apart
I feel so much pain and darkness inside of me
The light of hope is still hidden...if only I could see
The sun has left me, for there is only rain
How I wish I could stop all the pain
As I'm writing these words I have begun to weep
All because of the promise you couldn't keep.
