The New Millennium

The old has come and gone
The new one has just begun
The new millennium is now upon us
We must remember the past but to move forward
we must
No one is certain what the future holds
Will the new millennium bring light or darkness,
no one knows
I wonder if society will change for the better
and if yes how so?
Only time will tell, then we will know
Will all the problems of the last millennium simply
go away?
Or at the stroke of midnight, will it be just another
day?
There are so many problems to deal with,
but the new millennium brings light
If we all just learn to be tolerant and trust,
then the solutions to all the problems are within our
sight
The clock has just struck midnight and it signals a
new beginning
But only after another millennium will we know if
this one
brings a better ending
